Absence doesn't seem to make the heart fonder.
March 15, 2006
Yes, it has indeed been quite some time since the quill of KMI has made the world laugh, cry, and scream "Yes! Oh god, yes! Someone does understand!" via our own special brand of insight into the human condition. We do apologize for the lack of productivity, and promise to make amends in the future. But for now, let’s catch you up on some completed projects from the last year or so. Thus, the first order of business would be to check out our sister site, kmiposters.com, for some hard rockin’ graphical excursions.
So go ahead and empty your cache, roll the mouse, click a button or whatever makes your search engine of choice reset, and get ready to enjoy the NEU-LOOK of King Mini.
King Mini Begins Assault On Breakfast Cereal Market.
January 14, 2004 Though loved by many, for to long now KMI pamphlets have been stored in closets, sandwich bags and in the rarest of instances, mylar snugs. Today this random style of hoarding ends, as King Mini proudly unleashes the KMI Box O Books. The pinnacle of 7 years of unchecked vanity, this handsome and highly acidic cardboard box is capable of holding the entire KMI catalogue section of products as well as Polaroids, trinkets, and smaller bags of Fritos. Featuring new artwork that has been hand silk-screened in two colors, this box is limited to a mere 40 and is nothing short of pure Geniusness". Eagle-eyed collectors may find a prize within, although probably not.
King Mini Benefits From Lack of New Ashton & Demi Stories
January 10, 2004 KMIs commitment to works of "Geniusness"" seems to have struck chord with the overworked and undervalued interns of the publishing world. Hungry to fill editorial space, these world-wide-intra-net savvy go-getters have turned to KMI for something fresh. The Taiwan design magazine X-Funs has dedicated several pages to what we can only guess is a highly informative interview with KMI founder and CEO Vincent Stall. If you read Taiwanese or will be traveling through Asia in the near future, we recommend that you track down a copy of this beautifully produced magazine. Then, please take the time to translate the article and let us know what it says. State side curiosity seekers can check out the article at xfuns.com.tw.. Not to be outdone, the American design magazine Print has selected two KMI properties for the 2003 edition of their prestigious Regional Design Annual, which can still be found on the stands of most McBookeries nationwide. And if that wasn't enough of an ego stroke, the French publisher Bongout has included two KMI illustrations in their publication Amokoma. This lavishly hand-silkscreened book can be viewed and purchased from them directly at Bongout. Despite these accolades, rest assured we have no intention of resting on our laurels. As KMI enters its 7th year of business, you can be assured that our commitment to "Geniusness"" will remain steadfast and unwavering.
Twenty-Something Dirrty Girl Demographic Declares Robots the New Bastions of Outsider Hipness.
August 15, 2003
Sandwiched neatly between the hair care and sex columns, the editorial staff of dirrty girl magazine "Jane" has devoted an entire sentence to reviewing King Mini's very own 'Robot Investigator' leaflet. Apparently short on content for the upcoming September issue ( available August 8th ), the staff writer enigmatically known only as J.L. still managed to craft a unique analysis of the eerily prescient KMI sci-fi spectacular using but a mere 28 words. Those so inclined may find a dog eared copy buried amongst the plethora of glossy filth available at Mcbookeries nationwide.
"'Mansions of Need' is a Mini Masterpiece" Brett Warnock of Top Shelf Productions.
July 17, 2003
The debut of "Mansions of Need", King Mini's latest examination of social mores, at the MOCCA New York comics exhibition on Saturday June 21 was received with equal parts awe and casual indifference. And though most of the initial printing has been sold, a few copies were shrewdly set aside. Thusly, "Mansions of Need" is now available in the catalogue section, and we promise that your hard earned dollars will be wisely spent on this overly designed and semi-maudlin pamphlet.
The "Geniusness™" Spreads.
June 11 2003 Several months ago KMI was approached by Chris Pitzer of AdHouse Books and asked to contribute to a then untitled project. Intrigued and flattered, KMI agreed and subsequently created a short story of minor significance for the soon to be released book "Project Telstar". Additionally, a traveling exhibition of original artwork from the book is currently making its way across this great land, casting a well-deserved spotlight on the many talented cartoonists who have contributed to this fine publication. Please take a few minutes and check in with AdHousebooks.com, and congratulate Mr Pitzer on a job well done.

The Stink of Needless Change is in the Air
February 21, 2003 You the consumer have spoken! KMI is proud as punch to announce a year long recommitment to the creation of works of "Geniusness™." To this end, KMI will be publishing several new pamphlets. The first of which "5m, the Busline Diary" is now available for purchase in the catalogue section. The revitalization continues in the original art section, gone are the incidental scribbling of a lazy wrist, replaced with affordably priced paintings created exclusively for KMI. These are just two of the many changes that are in the works, KMI is very excited about our recommitment to "Geniusness™" and hope you share in our enthusiasm.
